AI-Empowered SAFe Scrum Master 26.7: Course and Exam Update - AgileSeekers

Scaled Agile released the updated AI-Empowered SAFe Scrum Master learning plan on 27 July 2026. The change is more than a renamed lesson. According to the official SSM release FAQ, AI concepts are integrated throughout the course, practice test, and exam instead of being isolated in one final AI lesson.

AI now belongs inside Scrum Master work

The release distributes AI use through the Scrum Master role. A learner should be ready to reason about where AI helps with preparation, pattern detection, flow analysis, risks, and communication, and where facilitation still requires human observation, trust, conflict navigation, and judgment.

Exam preparation must use current materials

Older articles describing 45 questions, 90 minutes, SAFe 6-only content, or one generic AI lesson do not match the current SSM release. Use the learning plan attached to the enrolled class, complete the practice assessment, and confirm the exam window in SAFe Studio.

Existing SSM holders have an upgrade route

Scaled Agile describes a short AI Skills for Scrum Masters learning path for eligible active certification holders. Completing the current path can issue the AI-Empowered achievement while preserving the earlier credential record. Account eligibility and access should be checked directly in SAFe Studio.

What a useful class should practise

  • Using AI to prepare while keeping facilitation choices human-owned.
  • Checking generated summaries against participant intent and missing voices.
  • Exploring flow, dependency, and risk patterns without treating correlation as proof.
  • Protecting confidential team and organizational information.
  • Designing experiments that improve outcomes rather than producing more reports.
