ICAgile Certified Professional – Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC) is a knowledge-based certification focused on the mindset, skills, and techniques needed to coach agile individuals and teams.
Effective agile coaches move deliberately among professional coaching, mentoring, teaching, and facilitation. The course develops the judgment to choose the stance that best serves the person, team, and situation.
ICAgile certifications emphasize live participation, practice, and application rather than memorizing one framework. Learners work with realistic coaching conversations, team situations, and feedback.
ICP-ACC and Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF) are the two knowledge-based certifications in ICAgile's Agile Team Coaching track. They provide a foundation for the advanced ICAgile Certified Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE-AC) pathway.
Decide when a situation calls for professional coaching, mentoring, teaching, facilitation, or a thoughtful combination.
01

Recognize personal assumptions, biases, and emotional responses, then manage them in service of the client and team.
02

Create rapport, stay present, hear content and emotion, and notice what may not yet have been said.
03

Use concise, open questions that create reflection, insight, ownership, and forward movement.
04

Offer observations that are specific and useful while remaining open to feedback about your own coaching impact.
05

Move from topic and desired outcome through exploration, options, commitment, and follow-through.
06

Share experience and teach concepts without making the learner or team dependent on the coach.
07

Work with team development, relationships, patterns, health, and the conditions that support high performance.
08

Help teams use healthy conflict, address dysfunction, and involve leadership when an organizational impediment exceeds the team's control.
09

Define scope, roles, confidentiality, boundaries, feedback, desired outcomes, and the working alliance before coaching begins.

ICAgile does not prescribe a prerequisite certification for ICP-ACC. A learning provider may set class-specific acceptance or preparation requirements.
Experience working with an agile team is strongly recommended because the course asks learners to connect coaching skills with real team dynamics and delivery situations.
Bring a current situation involving an individual, team, conflict, role transition, or organizational impediment. Remove confidential details before using it in class.
Practice intentional stance selection, feedback, conflict navigation, and team self-management in everyday work.
Deepen professional coaching, team assessment, relationship, and systemic observation skills.
Build broader coaching experience across teams while strengthening ethics, boundaries, and contracting.
Pursue deeper facilitation practice, ICP-ATF, and—after relevant experience—the competency-based ICE-AC pathway.
ICP-ACC stands for ICAgile Certified Professional – Agile Coaching. It is a knowledge-based certification in ICAgile's Agile Team Coaching track.
It focuses on the agile coaching mindset, professional coaching, mentoring, teaching, team coaching, conflict and dysfunction, organizational impediments, and coaching contracts and alliances.
No. ICAgile uses a framework-neutral, mindset-based approach. The coaching skills can be applied in Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, hybrid, and other agile environments.
ICAgile does not prescribe prerequisites for ICP-ACC, although individual learning providers may have their own. Practical experience with an agile team helps learners get more from the course.
