Thirty days can create focus. It cannot manufacture years of experience. A useful job-ready plan therefore has a narrower promise: understand the role, practise realistic situations, produce evidence, improve how you explain your experience, and leave with a routine for continuing the work.
The 30-day bootcamp inside the AI-Empowered Expert Scrum Master program is most valuable when learners treat it as a practice cycle rather than a video-completion target.
Before day one: choose a target, not a vague ambition
Collect five current job descriptions for the kind of role you want. Mark repeated expectations such as facilitation, stakeholder work, metrics, Jira, coaching, SAFe, AI literacy or prior domain knowledge. Pick one target role and one adjacent role. This keeps the next 30 days anchored to observable hiring needs.
- Write a baseline explanation of the Scrum Master role in your own words.
- Record one five-minute answer to a difficult interview question.
- List three team situations you handled, observed or can recreate as a case.
- Remove employer names and sensitive data before using any material for practice.
Days 1-7: rebuild the Scrum foundation around decisions
Do not spend the first week memorizing event definitions. Work through decisions: when to intervene, when to let the team solve a problem, how to respond when a Sprint Goal is weak, and how to help without taking ownership away from Developers or the Product Owner.
Work products for week one
- A one-page role-boundary map covering Scrum Master, Product Owner and Developers.
- A facilitation plan for Sprint Planning with a clear purpose, prompts and fallback options.
- A diagnosis of one recurring impediment that separates symptom, cause and ownership.
- A short reflection on a time your intervention helped or made the team more dependent.
At the end of the week, explain each artifact aloud. Interview readiness depends on reasoning under a question, not only on polished documents.
Days 8-14: practise facilitation and coaching under pressure
The second week should contain live practice. Choose situations that create tension: one person dominates the retrospective, the Product Owner arrives with unclear work, conflict is treated as a personal problem, or an action item has returned for the fourth Sprint.
For each situation, prepare more than one response. A Scrum Master who knows only one retrospective format or one coaching question is easy to disrupt. Practise changing the structure while keeping the purpose stable.
| Situation | Practice | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Low participation | Silent writing, small groups, anonymous input and direct invitation | Facilitation design plus reflection |
| Recurring action | Inspect ownership, capacity, incentives and system constraints | Impediment analysis |
| Conflict | Contract the conversation and separate observations from interpretations | Conversation plan |
| Weak stakeholder feedback | Redesign the Sprint Review around decisions and questions | Review agenda |
Days 15-21: use AI without outsourcing judgment
AI practice belongs after the role foundation, not before it. Use the principles from AI for Scrum Masters training: protect sensitive information, state the purpose, review the output, and retain responsibility for every decision.
Three safe practice exercises
- Create synthetic retrospective notes, ask AI to group possible patterns, then identify what the output cannot know about the team.
- Draft three facilitation options for a fictional conflict and explain why you would reject at least one.
- Turn a fabricated meeting transcript into actions, then verify owners, dates, uncertainty and missing context manually.
Maintain an AI decision log with the task, data classification, tool, prompt, output checks and final human decision. That log is stronger interview evidence than a list of tools.
Days 22-26: turn practice into a credible portfolio
Select three cases and structure them using the guidance in the Expert Scrum Master syllabus and deliverables article. Each case should show context, your diagnosis, options considered, action, result or learning, and what you would do differently.
Use ranges or normalized values when metrics could identify an employer. Never publish team comments, screenshots, names, client details or proprietary workflows. A good portfolio demonstrates judgment without borrowing credibility from confidential information.
Days 27-30: tighten the resume and rehearse interviews
Rewrite resume bullets around actions and evidence. Replace 'facilitated Scrum ceremonies' with a truthful description of the problem, your intervention and the observed change. Do not invent percentages. A smaller honest result is easier to defend than a dramatic claim without a baseline.
- Map each target-job requirement to one resume bullet or portfolio case.
- Prepare a 60-second introduction with role, context, strengths and next target.
- Run two mock interviews and review the recordings.
- Shorten answers that begin with theory before addressing the scenario.
- Create a follow-up plan for the next 30 days of applications and practice.
What job-ready should mean on day 30
You should be able to explain Scrum without reciting it, reason through unfamiliar scenarios, show two or three ethical work samples, describe where AI helps and where it does not, and answer questions without pretending that training equals employment experience.
