A live online KMP 1 class should involve more than watching a trainer build a board. Kanban System Design asks learners to reason about a real service: demand, customer expectations, capability, workflow, policies, risk, and feedback. The buying question is whether the batch creates enough interaction to do that work.

Ask to see how the virtual room works

- How are breakout exercises facilitated and reviewed?
- Does the trainer inspect policies, system boundaries, and flow assumptions?

A recording can help with revision, but it cannot replace observed group work. If the value of the offer rests mainly on lifetime recordings, ask what happens during the live hours that cannot be obtained from a video.

Calculate the payable amount, not the banner price

Check the trainer’s Kanban experience
Accreditation is the entry check. Also ask for examples of services the trainer has worked with and how they handle contexts beyond software delivery. A trainer should be able to discuss policy disagreements, unreliable data, mixed demand, customer expectations, and organizational constraints without forcing every case into the same board.
Confirm the small technical details
Ask which collaboration platform is used, whether a second screen is helpful, how breakout boards are shared, and what connection or audio backup is available. These are ordinary questions, but a system-design exercise loses momentum when learners cannot edit the shared workspace or inspect each other’s policies.
Also check the time zone, daily start and finish, break pattern, and attendance expectation. “Weekend batch” does not tell you whether the class is split across two long days or several shorter sessions. Choose the pattern that lets you participate fully rather than keeping the course open beside other work.
The decision rule
Choose the batch when the official course is unambiguous, the live design practice is substantial, the trainer can work with your context, and the final payable amount is clear. Delay the purchase when the provider cannot distinguish a course certificate from the full KMP path or cannot explain what learners will produce during class.
