AI has quietly become part of how many Product Owners and Product Managers think, plan, and decide. For POPMs working in a SAFe environment, AI now influences backlog prioritization, customer insight analysis, WSJF inputs, roadmap trade-offs, and even acceptance criteria refinement.

Here’s the thing. AI is powerful, but it is not neutral, not context-aware, and not accountable. Without clear guardrails, it can push product decisions in directions that look data-driven but slowly drift away from real customer value and business intent.
