SAFe Agilist Certification Renewal, Cost, Process, and Benefits

Current SAFe renewal tiers and prices

Current listed price: $195 per year. Scaled Agile's June 2026 renewal guidance lists SAFe Foundational at US$195 per year plus applicable tax, SAFe Advanced at US$295 per year plus tax, and SAFe Expert at US$995 per year plus tax. SAFe Agilist belongs to the Foundational tier. The amount charged in INR depends on the payment provider's exchange rate and tax treatment, so verify the payable amount in SAFe Studio.

SAFe Agilist is a Foundational certification. Scaled Agile currently prices the Foundational renewal tier at USD 195 per year plus applicable tax. This is a tier subscription, not a separate USD 195 charge for every Foundational certificate. The current list is maintained on Scaled Agile's certification-tier page.

What USD 195 renews

The Foundational tier covers eligible Foundational certifications held by the learner, including SA, SSM, POPM, SP, SA-GOV, and SDP. A person cannot select a tier for which they do not hold a qualifying certification.

Renewal steps

  • Sign in to SAFe Studio with the account linked to the certification.
  • Review the certification and Studio-access status shown in the profile.
  • Select the eligible renewal tier and confirm the current tax-inclusive total.
  • Complete payment and verify that the certification status has updated.
  • Keep the receipt and check the next renewal date in the account.

Do not mix renewal with exam retakes

Renewal keeps eligible credentials and Studio access active. It does not purchase a course exam retake. Under the April 2026 policy, SA course learners receive two attempts within 60 days of course completion; later unproctored retakes currently cost USD 50.

Optional proctored exams are a different purchase

Scaled Agile also offers an optional proctored route for selected Foundational exams. It currently costs USD 495 plus tax and includes two attempts within 60 days. This is not the normal annual renewal fee. Read the official proctored-exam FAQ if identity-verified testing is required by an employer.

Check the account rather than an old screenshot

Policies, taxes, and account eligibility can change. Use the price shown in SAFe Studio at checkout for the final transaction, and use provider articles only to understand the components.

Verify renewal in your Scaled Agile account

Renewal pricing, certification tiers and member benefits can change. Sign in to the credential owner’s platform and review the active certification, expiry date, applicable renewal tier and payment currency. A training provider’s old fee table should not override the amount shown in the official account.

Before renewing

  • Confirm which certifications the renewal tier covers.
  • Check whether any credential has already expired.
  • Review access to learning, community and tool benefits.
  • Verify invoice, tax and employer reimbursement requirements.
  • Record the renewal date and next expiry.

Renew when the credential and member resources support your current role or planned work. Do not renew solely because a generic salary article treats every SAFe credential as equally valuable.

Decide whether to renew or let the credential lapse

Renewal makes sense when the credential is relevant to active work, a target role requires current status, or the member resources support ongoing development. Letting it lapse may be reasonable when your work has moved away from SAFe, the credential no longer affects opportunities or a different learning investment has higher value. Check what lapse means for badge verification and reinstatement before the expiry date.

Use a renewal calendar

Set reminders 60 and 30 days before expiry. At the first reminder, verify the official fee, covered certifications and account details. At the second, obtain employer approval if needed and save the invoice requirements. After payment, confirm the new expiry in the official profile rather than relying only on an email receipt.

Avoid third parties that promise unofficial lifetime renewal, discounted credentials without account verification or payment through personal channels. Renewal should occur through the credential owner’s recognized platform or a clearly documented authorized process. Keep a copy of the receipt and support case if the account does not update. This practical record is more dependable than an old fee quoted in a search result.
